You may have heard of acrylic, but I really did not give them any thought until recently when I saw some fantastic paintings in acrylic exhibition assets Fairhaven. There are a few things from them that really caught my eye, and the things that turned out to be advantages of acrylic on other types of paints.

First, a bit of history for the acrylic paint. Most of us are familiar primarily with oils, water colors, and because this is the first paint used by each of the old gentlemen, and second because we are all the colors of water used in the school and the children. If we had a small on a tray instead of tubes! Acrylic were not present for a very long time. It was the first time for use in the art world in 1950 under the name of Magna Colors Artist Bocour. This was the original acrylic paint mineral spirit of the rule, although only a few years water-based acrylic paints later became available. It was Andy Warhol one of the first famous painters in the adoption of the use of acrylic. Not much else can be said about the acrylic, without discussion of its benefits. So here are the advantages of using acrylic paints.

In addition to the canvas and paper, you can use acrylic on wood, metal, concrete and stone, and more. In addition, you can modify the appearance of paint, depending on the surface of other media that have been made on the paint.

Acrylic paints dry fast. This is one of the fundamental differences between acrylic paint, oil, and depending on what you are doing, and it is good or bad. With some of the techniques, and time-consuming drying is useful, because it allows more time to mix colors. But for an artist who likes to work quickly, acrylic inevitable. It's fast evaporation of water which allows for faster drying time, and if it dries too quickly for you, you can add in the retarders to slow the drying process.

Can be mixed Acrylics with a wide range of media. You can add a lot of strength and variety of art through your blending and other media in the paint. Some possibilities include sand, rice or pasta. Or, when the acrylic dries, you can use other media such as charcoal, pen, and pastel on top of the paint.Acrylic and seems to be more stable than other paints. But they have been around 60 years ago, but so far there are no signs of cracking, yellowing or other degradation.
